Certain thought patterns can contribute to feelings of stress and anxiety. "Did you know that certain thought patterns can actually increase your anxiety? Thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all connected. To shift an emotion or behavior, examine your thoughts for any patterns," wrote Psychologist Carolyn Rubenstein.

Excessive worry and the sense of fear creeps into the mind and people have a tough time managing their thoughts. Overthinking makes things worse. But why do we experience more anxiety at night? Psychologist Avi Sanders shared a few reasons.

(Unsplash) All-or-nothing thinking: In this thought pattern, a person either believes in the good or the bad of a situation. They constantly reside in the extremities in their thoughts.
