A "BRILLIANT" girl who sustained "life-changing injuries" in a horror car crash is facing a long road to recovery ahead of her. Emma Flanagan, from Kells , Co Meath was involved in a "horrific" road accident in May while coming home from her secondary school. The 17-year-old was seriously injured in the car accident and initially spent weeks in the Spinal Injuries Unit in the Mater Hospital .
The brave young teen, who is now using a wheelchair, awaits a transfer to The National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dublin for further care. Emma has been hailed as the "much-loved daughter" of dad Paddy and mum Yvonne, the twin of brother Tom, "friend to many and teammate" within the local community of her hometown Cortown. She is now working towards her recovery and "really just wants to get home".
Her family , friends and the Cortown community have joined forces to help her through her recovery and work towards her goal of getting home.
