Audiences can enjoy "An Evening of 'Confusions'" as a Bolton theatre group present two of the five one-act plays by Sir Alan Ayckburn ­— in a break from tradition by the society. Between Mouthfuls and Gosforth's Fete will be performed as to opposed to a single production by St Vincent's Dramatics Society. Secretary Toni Maloney said: "We are still consolidating a recent growth in numbers, which has been much needed for the society.

"We didn't want to lose focus over the summer last year, so we ran a few workshops, both technical and on acting. Although small, these were well attended, bringing more new faces into the society. But the question was, what do we do with them next? "We had originally planned to do a single production in 2024, and expected to do it in May.



However, our chairman suggested that we give our newer members the opportunity to tread the boards with us for the first time in two shorter works." The society is therefore presenting two of the acts from 'Confusions' by Alan Ayckbourn , with the audience sitting at tables, and with light refreshments provided at the interval. The audience will also have the opportunity to bring their own drinks, making the evening a more social, relaxed event for their new actors' first time on the stage.
