The balance between personal and professional life, sleep , rest and nutrition are considered by Romanians to have the greatest impact on the quality of life, according to a study conducted by the Centre for Information, Prevention, Risk and Analysis (CIPRA), presented on Monday. The study, carried out in June on a sample of 1,008 interviewees, using the CATI method, with the help of Reveal Marketing Research, was presented at the debate "Improving the quality of life of children and promoting equal opportunities", organised by CIPRA and the Committee on Equal Opportunities for Women and Men of the Chamber of Deputies. The research looked at issues that influence the quality of family life, from the predominant stressors for parents or the main causes of family conflict, to the difficulty of maintaining a satisfactory balance between work and family obligations.
"Surprisingly this year, sleep and rest have moved to the top of the list of important quality of life issues, overtaking nutrition, which ranks third this year. Looking at the figures, we see that sleep and rest is an issue with the biggest impact on quality of life for 25-35 year old, and work-life balance has seen an increase, with 52% of respondents considering it very important, generally higher income earners and women more than men. Nutrition has decreased, with 51%, but it is very important for the 55-65 age group," explained Nadia Lazar, executive director of CIPRA.
