Excitement is building for the 2024 Ørsted Great Grimsby 10k that will see thousands of runners, volunteers and spectators take to the town's streets this weekend. The event, which will get underway at 9am on Sunday, June 2, will see around 2,500 runners take on a course starting from Grimsby Town Hall, before heading along Scartho Road, Louth Road, and Peaks Parkway. It then turns onto Welholme Road to finish in People’s Park.
As one of the area's biggest events, the Ørsted Great Grimsby 10k attracts runners from around the country and it also supports the amazing work of many local community groups and charities. North East Lincolnshire Council is also alerting drivers that ongoing roadworks on the A180 in Grimsby may impact their journey, and parking will not be available at Abbey Walk Multi-Storey as it is currently closed.
On behalf of everyone supporting the race, Tape2Tape have apologised for any inconvenience caused by the road closures. “The race supports many local community groups and charities in the fantastic work they do in our communities. It is also a big motivator to keep people moving in the support of their physical and mental wellbeing,” said Neil and Nicola Pattison, ra.
