All aboard the Rivington Rambler as it sets of to one of the region's most popular beauty spots. The ‘Rivington Rambler’ 125R bus is back on the road this summer, to take people to Rivington. The bus starts up again on May 26.
It will run every Sunday and bank holiday and this year the route has been extended to incorporate Chorley. The Rivington bus will provide a direct link from the train at Horwich Parkway (Middlebrook) leaving hourly at ten minutes to the hour and will run via The Crown Hotel, Horwich to Rivington Village Hall. From there it will go to Tesco in Adlington and end up at the Chorley Interchange.
On the journey from Chorley the bus will leave hourly on the hour from the Interchange Stand N, stop in Adlington at the Elephant and Castle, go on to Rivington Village Hall then to The Crown Hotel, Horwich and finally to Horwich Parkway Station at Middlebrook. The journey each way takes just over 40 minutes arriving at Rivington Village Hall halfway through. The bus, operated by Stagecoach will provide a convenient connection at Horwich Parkway and Chorley Railway Stations with the train and connect with trains back to Bolton and Manchester.
All normal concessions will be valid on the bus with the standard fare being £1 per person.
