A beach with free parking has been called "a hidden gem" by visitors. Pett Level beach, which is a short drive from Hastings Old Town, has received a number of good reviews despite not being among the county's most popular or well-known. On Tripadvisor, the outdoor space has received an average rating of 4.

"Absolutely loved this little find it has become my favourite place, clean fresh friendly peaceful, lovely walks and pet friendly with an amazing restaurant and bar and little café". Another visitor said: "This natural length of beach is wonderful. "Offering rock pooling, beachcombing, short or lengthy walks under the vast expanse of sky.

"Suitable for dog walking, with many places to park for free." A tourist who was visiting the area and decided to check out the beach said: "While staying locally we decided to put on our walking boots and take a nice walk along Pett level beach. "A lovely walk taking in the fresh air and sea views.

" Some people on Tripadvisor also said they had been visiting the seafront spot for decades. One reviewer, who has been to the beach annually for around 40 years, said: "This is a lovely, wide beach that's usually nearly empty. "There may be mud holes when you wal.
