When mum-of-three Lisa Eden went to bed at night she was terrified. At more than 24st 7lbs and struggling to breathe when she laid down she feared every day might be her last and that she might die in her sleep. She was also not only embarrassed about her size but had a range of health issues including high blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes.
But it took doctors to give her three months to change her life which led her to change her life for good. And now she is living life to the full after losing almost half her body weight with Slimming World. In just over two years she has ditched 13st 4lbs and gone from a size 28 to a size 14.
She has also reversed her high blood pressure and her type 2 diabetes is in remission. And now - in a far cry from the past when she ran from exercise - she loved getting moving and is even taking part in Cancer Research UK's Race for Life this weekend. Lisa, 46, from East Leake, in Nottinghamshire told how she had struggled with her weight for most of her life.
She began dieting at just 11 and had tried every sort of weight loss method going from hypnotherapy to weight loss groups. But while she would at first lose weight and feel great, she always regained the weight she’d lost and more. But when she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes as well as high blood pressure, she knew she had to finally take control of her weight.
Lisa said her GP told her she had three months to make improvements to her health by changing her lifestyle or she would need.
