Being more mindful about the way you eat has a huge array of potential health benefits, and it's so simple to do. For many of us, life is very busy - so it's no surprise that multi-tasking is often carried out throughout the day in order to help us get everything done. An example of this can be replying to emails whilst having dinner , or scrolling through socials and catching up with loved ones as you have breakfast.

While this can be great for saving time, it could be bad news for your digestion and ability to stay fuller for longer. That's according to Dr Clare Bailey, wife of Dr Michael Mosley , who recently took to the Fast 800 Instagram page to share some helpful tips about mindful eating. According to the diet expert, being more present and aware when you're eating - and not trying to do other tasks during mealtimes - can be hugely beneficial for your body and mind.



And Clare says this starts by putting your phone away whilst eating, no matter how tempting it may be to pick up and scroll while you do so. Speaking to the Fast 800 followers in a short video clip, she said: "Here is the first tip - not to eat with your phone. Because it's well known that you'll actually eat far more if you are distracted.

" This could be a useful piece of advice for anyone on a weight loss journey who is struggling to shed the pounds, as distraction could be the culprit. But mindful eating can also help with a range of other problems, such as aiding digestion, keeping you full with less fo.
