As summer approaches, lots of people will be taking well-earned breaks from their daily life and enjoying some rest and relaxation with a holiday. However, the thought of jetting off to another country can leave some riddled with anxiety. But, there are tips that can help calm nerves and make the start of your holiday a little less tense.

Mental health coach, Magnus Davis , has shared his advice to his 49,500 followers on TikTok Otherwise known as The Anxiety Coach , Magnus posted steps people can take that could help make travelling a less anxious experience. Magnus regularly uploads videos about overcoming anxiety after struggling with his own mental health. In a recent video, he started by telling his followers: "Learn how to calm your nervous system with the breath.



Learn all the tools to calm your nervous system so if a panic attack arises on the place you are capable of reducing that anxiety on demand. In an effort to trick the mind out of it's panicked state, he added another technique of pretending you were just getting on a bus instead. He wrote: "Lower the stakes in your head.

"Casually cruise on the plane and don't even give the anxious thoughts attention. 'What if' thoughts shrink when you starve them of attention." Magnus also advised travellers to "v isualise how [they] would like the journey to go".
