I have always enjoyed exercising. We have a dog, a black miniature schnauzer called Ollie, and I take him for a good walk every day. As well as walking the dog, I cycle to and from work.
I am very lucky to have a pleasant route to cycle for my journey. It takes me along the Connswater Greenway, passing by Victoria Park and through the Titanic Quarter along the Lagan Riverside path to the office. Building active travel into my day-to-day routine has always been a great way to exercise without really thinking about it, even taking the bus or train means I get more steps in.
I’m lucky that I generally keep very well. I enjoy food however I’m conscious of trying to make healthier choices. I live in east Belfast, and we are spoilt for choice when it comes to coffee shops and restaurants — everything in moderation seems reasonable! I’m possibly not the right person to ask about this.

but it is well-known in our house if you leave sweeties or chocolate lying about they won’t last too long. No, thankfully I have never smoked. There are a few things I enjoy doing to take time out.
During the working week, I try to take a break from the desk and get a short walk at lunchtime each day — a bit of fresh air helps to clear the head! I enjoy sailing, and at the weekends during the summer there is nothing quite like getting away from it all on the water. We have a boat which we keep on Strangford Lough. It’s such a beautiful place and you really do feel away from it all when.
