Man jailed over raping handicapped teen in Barishal Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Thursday night arrested a man reportedly for raping a handicapped teen girl in Barishal city on May 12. The arrested is Refaul Islam, 32, a resident of East Bogura road area in the city. According to the case statement, Refaul break into the victim's (17) house when her mother went to her workplace from the house in the morning of May 12.
He then, forcibly violated the girl. In the meantime, when the girl's mother went home, the accused Refaul ran and left the scene. Later, the victim's mother filed a case with Barishal Kotwali Police Station against the arrested person.
Since the case was filed, Refaul went into hiding, but RAB in a drive arrested him from Lebukhali Bazar under Bakerganj police station, said the media cell of RAB-8. Later, the accused was sent to jail through Kotwali police station following a court order. MN/SA.
