Two lanes are closed following a crash on the A14 today (Tuesday, May 28). A lorry swerved onto the embankment on the westbound carriageway between Swavesey and Godmanchester this morning - with lanes still shut to traffic as a result. Miles of congestion are reported as a result of the closures.

A National Highways spokesperson said: "Delays of around 3 miles, due to lanes 1 and 2 (out of 3) closed following a road traffic collision. Please allow extra time for your journey" Inrix, the traffic data company, said: "Two lanes closed and very slow traffic due to mud on road and earlier accident on A14 Westbound from J24b (Swavesey) to J23 A1198 (Godmanchester). Lane one and two (of three).

Previous information from Traffic England said delays were expected to continue into the afternoon. The latest update from traffic monitoring site Inrix said: Slow traffic due to earlier accident and earlier mud on the road on A14 Westbound from J24b (Swavesey) to J23 A1198 (Godmanchester).
