Work has been undertaken to repair a 'major leak' which shut a GP surgery last week. Now ward councillor Andy Morgan hopes the surgery will open as soon as possible. The Bolton News reported last week that Ladybridge Surgery closed on Thursday, as indicated by a social media post, and a notice on the website.

Cllr Morgan has been in touch with the landlord of the building who told him that the issue should now be resolved after work was carried out, and it's hoped the surgery can reopen this week. Cllr Andy Morgan The councillor had expressed concerns about elderly patients being able to access medical advice - and patients had raised issues about attending other practices in the group, which fall under the Bolton Community Practice Group. " I would hope that the practice will facilitate the opening ASAP and advise patients accordingly.” The practice has not provided a new statement on social media or the website. The latest statement on social media, dated May 23, still reads: "We regret to inform you that Ladybridge surgery will be closed for the foreseeable future due to a major leak that started today and has deemed the building unusab.
