A jealous ex-lover bombarded his former partner with 300 messages in one day, some of them threatening, a court heard. Peter Bratley, 36, later led police on a high speed pursuit through Scunthorpe , mounting a pavement outside a primary school which was busy with parents collecting children. At Grimsby Crown Court , Bratley, formerly of Grimsby , admitted charges of stalking, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and having no insurance.

Prosecuting, Annabelle Coakley told how the defendant was also in breach of a non-molestation order imposed last year. Miss Coakley said the former partner described the relationship with Bratley, between 2017 and 2019, as "toxic" and characterised by domestic abuse.
