In the first incident, officers received a report at approximately 2.30pm on Sunday, June 2 of a burglary in the Carnearney Road area. A vacant property was entered and a number of windows were smashed – it is believed a barometer was taken – but later located nearby.

Detailing the incident, a PSNI spokesperson explained: “CCTV was reviewed and observed two men, who were wearing dark trousers and dark tops, alongside scarfs and material covering their head within the yard. "They entered an area containing tools before exiting, driving the van and attempting to cut down a fence using an angle grinder. “The suspects were disturbed by the owner of the property and fled on foot into a nearby field.
