THE HSE has issued a major alert for teens sitting the Junior and Leaving Cert exams. Taking to X, formerly Twitter , the Health Executive shared a resource for teens who are feeling the stress of exams. The post read: "Exam stress can be overwhelming but there is support out there.

Reach out to a friend, family member or teacher or someone else you can trust to text, chat or call." In the video, they recommend reaching out to Jigsaw.ie, which provides support for those aged 12-25 along with concerned adults or parents.

Teens can also text HELLO to 50808 which is a free 24 hour texting service. The service will provide texters with a range of supports, from a calming chat to immediate support for those going through a mental or emotional crisis. You can also give Childline a call for free on 1800 666 666.

The 24-hour helpline is the national listening service for young people up to the age of 18. For more information on stress during exam time, the HSE advises youths to check out Spunout.ie.

This website provides information for young people on many topics including mental health. While a bit of stress can help you to stay motivated and focused, too much can be unhelpful. The HSE explained: "Having to revise a lot of information in a short space of time can be stressful.

Not understanding course material may also add to your stress." They have provided a list of ways to keep calm and avoid letting stress overwhelm you. It's important to take breaks while studying to practice .
