THE HSE have issued an urgent warning over a life-threatening disease, advising the public to "dial 999" if they have symptoms. The HSE have advised the public to watch out for these eight symptoms of a heart attack that could save your life. Taking to social media , they said: "Do you know the symptoms of a heart attack? "If you suspect the symptoms of a heart attack, dial 999 or 112 immediately and ask for an ambulance." It is important to note that although chest pain can be severe many people may only experience mild pain similar to indeigestion pain. Women, people with diabetes and elderly people may feel no pain at all. Chest pain may radiate into other parts or your body, particularly your left arm.
Pain may also expand to your right arm, jaw, back, neck or stomach. Feeling dizzy and lightheaded, sweating, being short of breath or coughing or wheezy are other key symptoms. Nausea and/or vomiting are additional symptoms of a heart attack.
Possible lesser known symptoms is a severe feeling of anxiety or panic such as having a panic attack. These symptoms are important to spot in yourself or others. A heart attack occurs when blood supply to the heart is cut off, usually due.
