An apprenticeship training provider has made a “huge improvement” to now be recognised as “good” by the government’s watchdog. This comes after the most recent Ofsted report deemed Horwich-based Alliance Learning, part of the University of Bolton Group, to be “good". This marks a notable improvement from an inspection carried out in February last year which handed down an “inadequate” rating.
Alliance Learning chief executive officer Dr Gill Waugh said: “This is a huge achievement for us at Alliance Learning. “The grade is testament to the relationship between Alliance Learning and employers and the contribution and commitment of our apprentices. Alliance Learning is part of the University of Bolton Group (Image: University of Bolton) “I would like to thank all colleagues for their hard work and determination in ensuring this improvement in our grade.
” Based at the Hurst Building on Horwich Business Park, Chorley New Road, Alliance Learning trains apprentices for roles across Greater Manchester. It became part of the University of Bolton Group in 2020. The most recent Ofsted report found that apprentices felt safe to report any concerns they may have had and that tutors are subject experts with significant industry experience.
This was a marked improvement on the previous report, released by Ofsted in April last year after an inspection carried out the previous February. This ruled that the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal develo.
