Delhi, the national capital of India is the worst hit among all the states, with recording a maximum temperature of 52.9 degrees Celsius on May 29, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). However, later on Saturday, IMD said that the data was faulty.
Despite the faulty temperature, it felt no less than 50 degrees Celsius. Amid the increasing heatwave with every passing day, India has reported 56 deaths from 24,849 suspected cases of heat stroke between March and May, according to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday.
