A grandmother of seven is about to publish her second book after overcoming a number of health conditions, with the help of a Border collie called Colin. Elizabeth Lawrence will see The Red Vampire launched in her home town of Barton upon Humber on Saturday, June 8. It follows on from her debut novel, The Black Wolf, and the third book in the trilogy, titled The White Fae Queen, is also already penned.

The author, who is mum to a son and two daughters, and gran to six granddaughters and one grandson, has epilepsy. The condition has caused her to have falls and knocks to the head, which along with the medication she takes have resulted in memory loss.
