Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) has announced events from July 2 to 11 on the former Romford Ice Rink near Queen's Hospital. BHRUT said staff will take the time to commemorate NHS colleagues who have died. July 11 will be the primary event to thank NHS staff, and will include a special breakfast, afternoon tea and an evening party.

The other two events will take place on July 2 and 11. Matthew Trainer, BRHUT chief executive, said: "Celebrating BHRUT is a great opportunity to welcome our communities in and recognise and thank our teams for the work they do caring for patients." A big white tent has since been spotted opposite the building. This would allow for the provision of live and recorded music, dance performances, as well as the supply of alcohol. Most of the events will take place in the marquee in front of Queen's Hospital, the trust said.

As part of "celebrating BHRUT", 1,300 children from east London schools will attend a careers fair on July 2. On this day, pupils will be able to speak to staff across the trust about what they do and discover the qualifications needed for their dream job. This will be followed by the "special lunch" for about 200 NHS volunteers on July 11.
