Florida recently became the first state to allow cesarean sections (C-sections) to be performed outside of hospitals, as reported by KFF News. New legislation enacted in March 2024 allows physicians to deliver babies — either naturally or via C-section — at "advanced birth centers." Women who are deemed at " low risk of complications " are eligible to receive these services in the clinics.
