A Bolton man crashed a car into a garden wall and drove off from the police. Neil Burke was spotted by police in a Fiat on Plodder Lane in July last year. Bolton Crown Court he was seen going at double the speed limit and came to the attention of police.
After being pulled over officers instructed him to take the keys out of the vehicle he then made off. During the incident a garden wall was damaged causing £1,000 of damage. He also hit the police vehicle causing £3,000 of damage.
But Burke drove off only to be detained a short time later. Peter Malone, prosecuting, said: “The car was registered and insured to a female who lived close-by. “Officers attended at the address, they saw the Fiat.
“There was no answer but police formed the view he was inside the property . “Mr Burke was found in the front room and he was arrested.” He was later breathalysed and found to be under the drink drive limit.

The court heard he had previous convictions, including motoring ones, but the last of these came in 2012.
