Drastic measure neighbours have been forced to take as illegal parking act overruns their Perth suburb and turns locals against each other Resident furious over entitled act Thousands of motorists commit the offence READ MORE: Homeowner slammed for leaving a note on a car By Pranav Harish For Daily Mail Australia Published: 23:34 EDT, 17 June 2024 | Updated: 23:34 EDT, 17 June 2024 e-mail View comments Residents fed up over an illegal parking act in their suburb have taken matters into their own hands by dobbing in their neighbours through an app. Several locals have been pushed to their wit's end by the number of parked cars blocking footpaths at Tapping, in Perth 's north. They have decided to take the drastic measure of photographing the vehicle and then uploading the incriminating images to the Snap Send and Solve app.
The local council is then alerted to the matter and issues a fine to the owner of the illegally parked vehicle. Local man Kevin West said cars that are parked on footpaths are a nightmare for residents who use the walkway. Fed up residents in Perth have cracked down on cars blocking footpaths (pictured), by reporting their neighbours who have committed the illegal parking act using a popular app 'Basically the footpath is blocked,' he told 9News.
'You've got to walk around. You've either got to squeeze past on the left hand side of the vehicle or alternatively, you've physically got to go into the traffic.' Mr West urged motorists to be mindful of pedestria.
