As summer and prime tanning conditions approach, experts are warning about a dangerous new trend on TikTok: the anti-sun cream movement. The trend, which has gained traction in the past weeks on social media platforms, encourages skipping sun protection entirely, with unqualified content creators claiming sun cream contains cancer-causing chemicals or that it actually “damages” your skin. Influencers are sharing videos with millions of viewers advocating against sun cream use.

One content creator, in a video with over 1.2 million views, claimed: "I don't wear sunscreen, and I never will. "We blame the sun for cancer when we should be blaming our diets.
