But have you ever thought what is the role of the father’s health on a child’s health? A recent study has revealed that a father’s diet before the birth of a child could have played a major role in their health. The study was released earlier this month in Nature and has been conducted by German research group Helmholtz Munich. The data of the study was finalised after inspecting more than 3,000 families.



While doing this, they found a trend that linked the father’s body weight and their children’s, even when accounting for genetics, maternal health and environmental factors. However, laboratory testing conducted as part of the study may indicate that the impacts come down to a small window of time around conception, perhaps a matter of days or weeks.
