A museum wants to hear from refugees and migrants from around the world to listen to their memories this Windrush Day. Brighton and Hove Museums is hosting an event on Saturday at Hove Museum of Creativity, New Church Road, Hove, for people to tell their own migration stories for future generations to listen to. The charity, which protects five historic and cultural venues across the city, is encouraging anyone who has immigrated to the UK under any circumstances, including the Windrush, to share their experiences.

READ MORE: City school will close by the end of the year after crisis situation The museum’s Culture Change team, which was set up to change how stories from different communities are told and recorded, will gather as many stories as possible on the day. These archives will be part of an oral history collection which people can listen to in the future. Guests are asked to bring along memorabilia and photos if they have any, but the museum said just memories will also be enough.



The Culture Change team will also be collecting family recipes from around the world to use in school resources. During the event, people can also expect music, food, and activities including face painting and badgemaking. Joint head of Culture Change, Simone LaCorbiniere said: "This will be a fun afternoon for everyone to celebrate the achievements and contributions the Windrush generation have made to the UK.

"But we also want to celebrate some of the fascinating, brave and important sto.
