The University of Bolton has moved up nine places in the 2025 edition of the ‘Complete University Guide’. The University of Bolton is now 111th out of 130 places. However, the university was number 34 for student satisfaction, with a score of 78 per cent.

Other North West universities to be ranked include the University of Manchester, down three at number 22, and Manchester Metropolitan University, up five at 55.



Lancaster University dropped one place to 11, meaning it’s out of the top 10, while the University of Central Lancashire gained seven places to 92. The spokesperson added: “Our dedicated staff are committed to providing our students with the best possible overall experience during their studies. “The Guide also shows a significant improvement in our graduate prospects, which shows the success graduates enjoy after leaving the institution. That number has risen by 13 per cent year on year, which is a bigger increase than any other university in the region.
