A Bolton priest has been hailed as “an example to us all” after being honoured by the Pope for incredible 65 years in the priesthood. Father Marian Juszczyk first came to England from Poland in 1971 and still helps with services at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bolton town centre at the age of 91. He has now celebrated the 65th anniversary of his ordination with a ceremony attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton, other civic dignitaries and even recognition from Pope Francis.

Now retired, he still makes Bolton his home and his anniversary event was attended by parishioners from across the town along with family members from Poland. On display at the celebration event, was a certificate from the Vatican.
