A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs and for the possession of an offensive weapon. On Sunday June 2, Greater Manchester Police officers noticed a vehicle parked up in Halliwell. Police say the driver and vehicle were subject to a stop and search under Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act.

As officers conducted the stop and search, a large quantity of cannabis was recovered from the vehicle as well as a small blade. Officers also recovered a large quantity of cash and a number of mobile phones. He remains in custody awaiting a charging decision from the Crown Prosecution Service. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “On Sunday June 2, officers noticed a vehicle parked up in Halliwell. “The driver and vehicle were subject to a stop and search under Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act and a large quantity of cannabis was recovered from the vehicle, as well as a small blade.

Officers also recovered a large quantity of cash and a number of mobile phones. “Enquiries continued into Monday June 3. The male remains in custody awaiting a charging decision from the Crown Prose.
