A number of people from Bolton have recently been before the courts. Magistrates have dealt with a number of offences including thefts, assaults and possession of a weapon. Joshua Hambleton stole meat joints worth £87 from Aldi in Bolton.

The 24-year-old admitted the offence, which took place in April at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court. Hambleton, of Thorn Wall, Westhoughton , was placed on a community order to last until December 2025. He was ordered to do a drug rehabilitation requirement for six months, to attend 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days and to do 100 hours of unpaid work .



He was also told to pay compensation of £87. Daniel Berry attacked a woman in Manchester in April. The 39-year-old admitted the offence at Manchester Magistrates' Court.

Berry, of Cawdor Court, Farnworth , was given a sentence of 12 weeks suspended for a year. He was ordered to do an alcohol treatment requirement for a year and ordered to do 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days and told to pay compensation of £50. Joseph Lewis had a large hunting knife on Rudd Street, Manchester, in June last year.

The 24-year-old was found guilty of the offence at Stockport Magistrates' Court. He had entered a not guilty plea. Following this he was placed on a community order to last for a year.

Lewis, of Nook Fields, Harwood, was told to do 60 hours of unpaid work. The court also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the hunting knife. Read more: Bolton police's stop and search shoo.
