A number of people from Bolton have recently been before the courts. Magistrates have dealt with a variety of offences including driving ones, abusive behaviour and breaches of a sexual harm prevention order. Here are the people who have recently been in court.

James Quinlan drove a Mercedes above the drink drive limit on Kelvin Road, Seacombe in the Wirral last month. The 44-year-old was breathalysed and found to have 94 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.



Quinlan, from Hill View Court, Astley Bridge, admitted the offence at Wirral Magistrates Court. Following this he was given ten points on his licence and fined £470. The 20-year-old failed to register an online communication programme with the police. He was required to do this as a result of a sexual harm prevention order made at Bolton Crown Court in July last year. Prest, from Pear Tree Drive, Farnworth , admitted the offence at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court.

Following this he was placed on a community order to last for a year and was ordered to do 100 hours of unpaid work . Gary Smith was threatening and abusive to a woman causing harassment and alarm in April this year. The 43-year-old admitted the offence at Bolton Magistrates Court .
