A Bolton choir made up of people who've fought or are fighting cancer is set for a concert this summer. Bolton Cancer Voices recently marked its 12th birthday and members say they are thrilled to perform for the first time in four years. The group say they refuse to let the disease limit them.
Their forthcoming event, 'A Summer Serenade', is scheduled for Friday, July 19, at 7.30pm. The concert will take place at Brookfield Hall, Peel Terrace, Westhoughton BL5 3SP.
Tickets are limited and are available for £8.00 from choir members or the Ticket Secretary on 01204 595562 / 07773 164235. Karen Elliott , the founder and chair of the choir, said: "We are so looking forward to this event, it’s going to be very special on so many levels.
"It’s our first concert in over four years, our inaugural concert with Katie – our new musical director, the first performance experience for many of our new members and sadly the final concert for our retiring accompanist – Mark, who’s been with us on our musical journey almost since the start." She added, "It's an exciting programme of popular music , being delivered in a beautiful venue: there couldn't be a better way to relax on a summer's evening. "Everyone's been working really hard and we're hoping for a sell-out event - we've so missed the buzz that comes from live-performance.
