A bison was “defending its space” when it gored an 83-year-old tourist in Yellowstone National Park, officials said. The woman from Greenville, South Carolina, was gored by the animal June 1 near the Storm Point Trail at Yellowstone Lake, park officials said in a news release. It was feet from her when it lifted her about a foot off the ground with its horns, officials said.
