A proposal to transform a family house into a private children’s care home has been called off. The scheme had originally planned to turn the house on Hewlett Way in the Hart Common area, Westhoughton into a home for up to two young people between the ages of eight and 18. The applicants, Flipping the Script CIC, had said that they hoped the young people staying there would have been from Bolton .
A statement said: “This means that the applicants will have close relationships with the child’s social workers and the applicants will know the child and their needs. “As good corporate parents, the applicants know their children, their needs, their risks, and their strengths. The plans have now been withdrawn (Image: Flipping the Script CIC) “The applicants have good relationships across teams and with health support services and the police.
” The plans were first put before Bolton Council on Monday May 20 this year. Flipping the Script CIC had said that they hoped a small team of carers would have helped to create an atmosphere similar to a family home. This was also aimed at helping to minimise the number of times staff would have to change over.
The statement said: “The aim is to create a family home feeling at the property which is why there will be no more than two young people living in the home. “The child will be cared for by a small group of adults (staff) who will take on a de facto parenting role as corporate parents .
