400tmax/iStock Unreleased via Getty Images Google’s parent company Alphabet ( NASDAQ: GOOG ) ( NASDAQ: GOOGL ) has tapped Anat Ashkenazi as its new chief financial officer. Ashkenazi, currently executive vice president and chief financial officer at Eli Lilly ( NYSE: LLY ), will join as chief financial officer and senior vice president of Google and Alphabet, effective July 31, 2024. The appointment comes almost a year after Alphabet first announced current CFO Ruth Porat would transition to a new role as president & chief investment officer.
Porat will continue as CFO until Ashkenazi starts, including through the company’s second quarter earnings, the tech giant said . Ashkenazi has worked for over 23 years at Eli Lilly ( LLY ) and has had a diverse career spanning financial, strategy and operations roles. Prior to her current position, Ashkenazi served in the role of senior vice president, controller and chief financial officer of Lilly Research Laboratories.
She will be based in the Bay Area, reporting to Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai.
