International fusion, Chinese, Lebanese, and Japanese fare await patrons as they embark on a global journey at this conveniently located endroit. Upon entering Sora Japanese, I was immediately struck by the modern and inviting décor. A feature wall is adorned with striking mural depicting a Japanese geisha, and the soft lighting creates a cosy and relaxing atmosphere.
The seating is comfortable, with a mix of booths and tables, and there is also outdoor seating with a bar and views of both the bustling city and the Blue Mountains. Our dining experience commenced with a dragon roll, which had perfectly crispy shrimp inside and was topped with avocado, spicy mayo and eel sauce. For the main course, I had Yaki Udon.
This dish of stir-fried noodles mixed with vegetables, shrimp and pork did not disappoint. According to my server, “It gets the most forward.” My lunch partner opted for the Teriyaki Chicken Lunch Bento Box which was served with a miso soup, mini salad, and Japanese rice.
