2 killed in Jashore road accident Two elderly man were killed after a covered van ran them over on the Jashore-Benapole highway in Jashore on Tuesday. The accidet took place in the morning in front of Sharsha Haque Community Center in the area. The deceased were identified as Nasir Uddin, 68, was a retired assistant professor of Navaron College and Ali Box, 65, was a night guard of Japan Bangladesh Corporation.

Locals said they were returning home from local mosque after completing Fazar prayer like other days. At that time, a good-laden covered van ran them over when they arrived in the area, leaving them critically injured. Later, locals rescued them and took them to Sharsha Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared them dead.



On information, police recovered the bodies and sent them to Jashore General Hospital for autopsy, said Jayonto Kumar Das , officer in-charge of Navaron Highway Police Station. MB.
