FARGO — Over the past two months Tigirlily Gold has been involved in three of the biggest country music industry events of the year, met their peers and played one of its biggest concerts ever on Saturday, opening for star Parker McCollum at the 7,200 seat theater in Detroit. The sisters, Kendra Olson and Krista Slaubaugh, will headline a much smaller show when they play Fargo’s 700-seat Sanctuary Events Center on Saturday, June 15, but it will mean as much to them as playing to 10 times as many people. “These are our only shows in North Dakota, and it’s just going to be a celebration of all of the people who supported us along the way,” Slaubaugh said of the Fargo show and playing Mandan Rodeo Days on June 29.

The last 11 years have been a long road from the duo’s home in Hazen, North Dakota, to Nashville, where they’ve lived since 2017. The last 13 months in particular have been a wild ride. In May of 2023, the singing sisters made their Grand Ole Opry debut, a rite of passage for country music performers.

That July they played a side stage at the Red River Valley Fair, then returned to West Fargo a month later to play The Lights, opening for Chris Lane. After that, things really took off. In September the sisters sang the national anthem before a Green Bay Packers game at Lambeau Field for a televised Thursday night football game and then played on “Today with Hoda & Jenna” in October.

They closed out the year with a song featured in a Hallmark Christmas .
