People looking to get out and enjoy a little of what Thorold has to offer can visit the second season of the Thorold Community Market opening Wednesday. The market, held last year as a pilot project, will return to the Battle of Beaverdams Park, and will run each Wednesday until Sept. 4, from 5 p.

with a grand finale Sept. 14. Each week the market will have a mix of about 30 vendors and a musical act offering much to entice the marketgoers.
For the community market opening day, the musical act will be the Reed Band. A different musical act will perform each week throughout the summer. The weekly event will have a patio to highlight a wine or beer from a different winery or craft brewery each week.
Jacob Tedesco, City of Thorold special events co-ordinator, said the event will grow over last year with many more vendors looking to participate. “This year we do have a lot more. We’re excited to be able to offer what we feel is a good mix of different vendors selling different products,” he said.
Tedesco said when it comes to options, especially food, there will be much to tantalize. Thorold Community Market launches Wednesday at 5 p.m.
