Kevin Spacey has opened up about the support he received from Sir Elton John and David Furnish. Rocketman hitmaker Elton was called as a witness for the defence in the Hollywood actor's trial on last year, along with his husband David Furnish. Spacey was standing trial under his full name, Kevin Spacey Fowler, was labelled a "sexual bully" when proceedings began in June 2023.

He denied 12 charges concerning four men, including sexual assault and indecent assault, which are alleged to have been committed between 2001 and 2013. Speaking about the support from the mega-couple, Spacey told Piers Morgan: Elton was the first email I got on October 30th of 2017, saying: "We love you. Whatever you need, we're here for you.

. " Spacey went on to say: "I told them a piece of information one of the accusers had said about them, which wasn't true," before adding that Elton and David had been adamant that they must testify, despite Spacey saying they shouldn't. He added: "They insisted on it.
