Virgin Media News presenter Zara King has turned to her followers for help, after losing her voice following a brief illness. The presenter, who hosts the Group Chat podcast alongside her colleagues Richard Chambers and Gavan Reilly, told her followers that she was a bit under the weather earlier this week. However, she took to her story to say that while she was feeling right as rain, free of aches and pains, a new symptom has come through — namely that she’s lost her voice.
She added that working in broadcast news this weekend makes the lack of voice ‘sub optimal.’ ‘You can probably hear that I have lost my voice,’ Zara said in a social media post. ‘I have been sick for a couple of days, but my voice was perfect — like I didn’t have any issues with my voice.
‘And then I woke this morning feeling completely better, no longer [having] aches or pains, or headaches or temperature and...
now that I’m better, I’ve lost my voice, which just does not make any sense to me. ‘I’ve been drinking manuka honey and lemon, all those things that you’re supposed to do, but if anyone has any other miraculous advice on how to get one’s voice back, I would appreciate it — because I am working this weekend, and working in television as a broadcaster and having no voice would be, eh, sub-optimal, I would say.’ Zara recently shared a glimpse into her bridal shower ahead of her upcoming wedding, with her marrying her private other half this summer in Cork.
