JOEY CARBERY and wife Robyn Flanagan are basking in the arrival of their 'beautiful baby boy'. On St Stephen's Day Robyn had first announced she was expecting their first child . And now their wait is finally over with the couple sharing an adorable image of their new arrival.
It was captioned: "You’re finally here. Welcome to the world our beautiful baby boy." Among the delighted replies were congratulations from Ireland prop Finlay Bealham as well as Jessica O'Mahony - wife of Irish captain Peter .
Joanna Cooper - who is also due to give birth quite soon - was similarly on hand to pass on her best. While the baby's name remains a mystery for the time being, one thing he has going for him has already caught the eye. In a follow-up Instagram story one of Robyn's relatives joked in reference to his full head of hair: "Three days old and he literally needs the Dyson.
" Unfortunately for Joey, it was a week of mixed emotions. His Munster career was brought to a premature end upon suffering a thumb injury which required surgery. The luckless fly-half will now have to turn spectator for the remainder of the province's efforts to retain their URC crown.
The Reds advanced through the quarter-finals with ease against Ospreys by 23-7 . Should they live up to their top seeding in Saturday's semi-final versus Glasgow Warriors, there's an excellent chance they'll host arch rivals Leinster in the final at Thomond Park. The Blues for their part face a tougher challenge on the near horizon.
