NEW York Knicks star Jalen Brunson has jabbed back at Reggie Miller in an interview with Bleacher Report's Taylor Rooks. Brunson sat down with Rooks and responded to Millers' comments from his recent appearance on Mark Jackson's podcast. "Reggie you started the chirping," Brunson responded.
"He said the boogeyman's coming back to New York," added the Knicks star. “He said, I own this place." Miller didn't mince words when he appeared on Jackson's podcast as he had some choice words for Knicks fans.
"I cannot stand the Knicks because to me their frontrunners," Miller said. "They think that they are God's gift to basketball." The 58-year-old was alluding to the chorus of boos and NSFW chants he received from the Knicks faithful during the Eastern Conference semi-finals.
Miller said "gasoline was poured" on the fire when Knicks guard Josh Hart went over to him to tell him about the f**k you Reggie chants. The Knicks had control over the series leading 3-2 after the moment between Hart and Miller and lost the following two games to lose the series. When the Indiana Pacers completed the series win Miller took to social media to mock the Knicks.
The former Pacer shared a video of Hart calling him out early in playoffs, saying it was the moment everything changed. "When the series CHANGED!!" Miller wrote. Brunson told Rooks he didn't believe that was the series turning point but did call Hart an "idiot" for going over to Reggie.
