Bengaluru: A 32-year-old woman Rachana (name changed), lost gold ornaments worth Rs 4.1 lakh, when she was getting makeup in a salon recently. According to the police complaint, a private firm employee residing in Shivajinagar visited the salon in Banaswadi around 5.
45pm on July 8. She removed her gold mangalya chain, two finger rings and a wrist watch, and put them in her pouch near her. However, she noticed later that the ornaments were missing from her pouch.
She alerted the parlour management. As she didn’t get a proper response, she lodged a complaint. Rachana told police that she suspects a woman, Sadana, who was hovering around her.
Sadana confessed to the crime and police have recovered the valuables. A senior cop said Sadana was a friend of a woman, working in the parlour. She had gone to meet her and took Rachana’s ornaments and kept the pouch back in the parlour.
