A mum has issued a warning to fellow holidaymakers about the dangers of mosquito bites after falling seriously ill. Lowri Wilson, 37, was eagerly anticipating her family holiday in Hurghada, Egypt at the end of May. However, their eight-day getaway turned into a nightmare when Lowri claimed she was bitten over 120 times by mosquitoes, leaving her feeling extremely unwell.

The mother-of-one hopes that by sharing her ordeal, others planning on travelling abroad this summer will be more vigilant about potential mosquito bites. Lowri, from Porthcawl, shared her initial excitement about her visiting Egypt for a sixth time. The second-year sabbatical officer at University of Wales Trinity Saint David said: "I love going to places where you can experience the culture.



"During the times I have been there before, I have stayed in Sharm and Hurghada. Previously, I had visited the Pyramids, the Valley of the Kings and so on. I had a phobia of the sea and I had conquered my fear, so this time round I wanted to go snorkelling in the Red Sea.

" Lowri, along with her family including her four-year-old daughter Tyger-Rose, jetted off to Egypt on Friday, May 31. They were booked to stay at the Hilton Hurghada Plaza for their eight-day vacation, reports . However, it didn't take long for Lowri to start suffering from insect bites.
