Wimbledon legend Annabel Croft previously revealed how Strictly Come Dancing had been a "distraction" following the death of her late husband, Mel Coleman. The couple, who first met back in 1988 on a yacht racing assignment was Croft's first serious boyfriend and was married for more than 30 years when Croft was 27, and Coleman, 30. Coleman was diagnosed with stage three stomach cancer, which was a short battle when he died in May 2023 just a few months after his diagnosis at age 60. Croft had shared with the world through a statement on social media which said: "'My beloved husband Mel passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning after a short battle with cancer. My family and I are completely heartbroken and ask for privacy at this very sad time.
