A charming and fun action-comedy-romance that’s based on a “somewhat true story,” “Hit Man” stars Glen Powell as a mild-mannered philosophy professor whose life takes a wild turn when he starts doing undercover work for the police as a fake hit man. It’s all costumes and fun and convictions until he meets the beautiful Madison (“Andor’s” Adria Arjona) and starts living a double life. Richard Linklater directed the film, which he co-wrote with Powell.
A sensation at the fall film festivals, “Hit Man” was picked up by Netflix which seems like a good home for this, shielding it from any “box office disappointment” narratives.
