It’s no secret that some of Zara’s clothes come up tiny, while others fit like a glove. But according to ultimate ‘money mum’ Gemma Bird , you can work out how an item from the Spanish fashion store will fit before you’ve even tried it on. The mum-of-two has revealed the secret code on Zara labels that indicate whether an item fits small, is true to size or fits large.
A square symbol on the right hand side of the inner label means the item is true to size. A triangle symbol means it's on the smaller side, while a circle symbol means it's on the larger side. Gemma, 42, shared the information on Instagram - but the revelation was met with mixed response.
Some Zara workers attempted to disprove the theory, while others explained it's a bit more complicated than symbol=size. It is thought that the symbols indicate different Zara ranges, which in turn has an effect on sizing. Therefore, while the symbols may not directly indicate different sizes, they represent different Zara lines which may have different sizing strategies to each other.
